Terms & Conditions

Backup Power Pro — a division of Key Electric, LLC Last updated: April 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Backup Power Pro website and your engagement with our installation services. By submitting a quote request, scheduling an installation, or making a payment, you agree to these terms.

1. Services

Backup Power Pro, a division of Key Electric, LLC, provides generator inlet and interlock installation services for residential properties in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Pickens counties, South Carolina.

All electrical work is performed by or under the direct supervision of a licensed South Carolina electrical contractor (LIC #2942). Every installation includes a permit application and a third-party inspection by a county electrical inspector.

Service area: Greenville, Spartanburg, and Pickens counties, SC only.

2. Quotes and Pricing

Quotes provided via text, email, or our website are estimates based on information you provide. The final price is confirmed in writing before any work begins.

  • Price-Lock Guarantee: Once we confirm a price in writing, that is the price you pay — provided the scope of work does not change. If new information surfaces during the install (e.g., panel conditions differ from what was described, or you request additional work), we will notify you of any price change before proceeding. If you do not accept the revised price, you may cancel and receive a refund of your deposit minus the permit fee.
  • Additional costs may apply if your panel requires unforeseen upgrades or if permit fees differ from our estimate. We will notify you before proceeding.
  • Quoted prices are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
  • Scope Modifications via Discount Note: If a discount is reflected on your proposal and accompanied by a written note, that note constitutes a binding modification to the standard scope of work. For example, if the note states "customer supplies power transfer cord," that item is excluded from our installation and we assume no responsibility for it. By approving the proposal, you acknowledge and accept the modified scope as stated in the note. The discount note supersedes any conflicting description in the standard proposal text.

3. Deposits and Payments

A 50% deposit is required to schedule your installation. The remaining balance is due upon completion, before we leave the job site.

  • Deposits are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store payment card information.
  • Permit fee ($125) is non-refundable once the permit application has been filed. We typically file within 1 business day of receiving your deposit. This fee is remitted to the county and is non-recoverable regardless of whether the installation proceeds.
  • Rescheduling: You may reschedule your installation at any time at no charge. Your deposit and permit carry over to the new date.
  • Cancel 48+ hours before your scheduled install date: full deposit refunded, minus the $125 permit fee (if already filed).
  • Cancel less than 48 hours before your scheduled install date: the deposit is forfeited. You may reschedule instead to preserve your deposit.
  • If we cancel or are unable to complete the job for any reason on our end: full deposit refunded, including the permit fee.

4. Scheduling and Access

You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to your electrical panel and the designated generator connection point on the scheduled installation date.

  • If we are unable to complete work due to conditions outside our control, we will reschedule at no charge.
  • Permit posting and county inspection are included with every job. You may or may not need to be present for the county inspection — we will let you know.

5. Warranty

All installations include a 1-year workmanship warranty. If any issue arises from our installation work within one year of completion, we will return and correct it at no charge.

  • This warranty covers workmanship only, not equipment failure, damage caused by misuse, or acts of nature.
  • Warranty is void if the installation is modified by anyone other than Backup Power Pro or Key Electric, LLC.
  • To make a warranty claim, contact us at key@backuppowerpro.com or (864) 400-5302 within the warranty period.

6. Generator Compatibility

Our installation is designed for portable generators with a 240V, 30-amp or 50-amp outlet (NEMA L14-30 or L14-50). It is your responsibility to confirm your generator is compatible before scheduling. We are not responsible for damage caused by connecting an incompatible generator.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South Carolina law, Backup Power Pro and Key Electric, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific installation. Nothing in this section limits liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

8. Communications Consent

By submitting a quote request on our website, you consent to receive text messages from Backup Power Pro related to your quote and installation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina. Any disputes shall first be submitted to good-faith mediation between the parties. If unresolved, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Greenville County, South Carolina.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at backuppowerpro.com/terms. Material changes will be communicated to recent customers via text or email.
